They stared down at the dented car door,  the remnants of destroyed number plate that littered the pavement like confetti.

‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,’ said Carl, kicking the front bumper which creaked and fell onto the tarmac.

Sue folded here arms. ‘Right. And what are you supposed to do when life gives you a useless boyfriend?’

Carl smiled. ‘Make allowances?’ he said.

      1. When I read a novel, the plot is far less important than the writer’s style. as long as it doesn’t glorify football or war I’ll read practically anything of quality – and even the occasional mediocre book, as long as it’s funny

      2. True – style is very important. The feelings you get when reading, the atmosphere created. Sinking into somewhere magical and unknown. Great stuff 🙂
